Unlike iOS 4.3.2 Untethered Jailbreak, iOS 4.2.7 does not use ion1c exploit. Surprised? Well iH8sn0w said the exploit is too complex to reverse. But fortunately Chronic Dev Team’s 4.2.x exploit still worked for 4.2.7.  So here it is guys, the Sn0wbreeze 2.6 with Untethered Jailbreak support for Verizon iPhone 4 on iOS 2.4.7

You need to download Sn0wbreeze 2.6, iOS 4.2.7 IPSW file and the Latest iTunes. Use the following links

Now run Sn0wbreeze and follow the onscreen instructions.

Sn0wbreeze will ask you to browse for the iOS 4.2.7 IPSW file which you have downloaded.

Sn0wbreeze will identify the firmware file and show the message when successful

Now select “Expert Mode” and click on the Next Arrow.

Select “Build IPSW” and click on the Next Arrow

Sn0wbreeze will run several processes to create the Custom Firmware file. Be patient and wait for it to finish.

You will see the DONE message when the Build process is completed.

Now you need to put your device in DFU mode. Follow the onscreen instructions.

When you have entered your device in DFU mode, Sn0wbreeze will show the following screens.

Do not close Sn0wbreeze, keep it running . Now open iTunes we need to restore the Custom iOS 4.2.7 Firmware on the device.

We need to restore it manually by holding left “Shift” key on keyboard and click on “Restore” in iTunes.

This will open file browser to select the iOS file. Select the Custom IPSW file created on the Desktop by Sn0wbreeze and click on “Open“.

Now sit back, iTunes will update your Verizon iPhone 4 to latest iOS 4.2.7 with Untethered Jailbreak.
